Valerie Millard

August 17, 2021

Valerie is a military spouse married to her college sweetheart and a mom to boy-girl twins, age 7.  Before moving to Burke in July 2020, Valerie and her family have called many places home (Kansas, Texas, and Arizona).  They are enjoying exploring their new home here in Virginia!

Valerie has always had a heart for education and loves seeing kids gain confidence in themselves as they learn. She received her undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University in sociology and went on to get a master’s degree in elementary education from Arizona State University.

Previously a classroom teacher for first grade, Valerie also has experience teaching preschool children ages 2-5. She has seen how important early childhood education is and has a passion for making it meaningful, fun, and accessible to all students.

When she’s not teaching, Valerie enjoys spending time with her family – whether it’s going to the pool, having a movie night, or exploring the city.  She loves to be creative with hand lettering, photography, or a good craft project.  She also loves to read a good book (when there’s time!), and enjoys staying active through activities like running.

Valerie loves making the classroom like a home and looks forward to welcoming the kids to school this year!
