Preschool Board

  • BPC Preschool is guided and supported by the Preschool Board.  Each committee is made up of one chair and 3-4 parent volunteers.  The Board is a fun group of parents who care about this preschool and want it to be the very best place for their children.  Monthly meetings are child-friendly and often held during preschool hours.

    Budget/Strategic Planning/Marketing Committee

The Budget Committee serves as a steering group for the preschool and ensures sound fiscal responsibility.  Members work closely with the preschool director to set annual tuition rates and teacher salaries, and they spearhead preschool marketing efforts.   Members include the BPC Preschool Treasurer, who is a paid staff member, along with several preschool parents who serve as volunteers.

    Fundraising Committee

The Fundraising Committee focuses on different community-building events throughout the year.  In the fall, they organize dining nights at local restaurants where a percentage is donated to the preschool.  In October, they partner with local orthodontic or dental offices that pay for each pound of unopened Halloween candy donated. During the holidays, they sell gift cards through ShopwithScrip, and a percentage of gift cards purchased goes to preschool.  Every other year they do an Original Artworks Program where students can choose to make personalized handprint artwork that can be turned into gifts such as magnets, flags, coffee mugs or notebooks.

The main fundraiser each year is the Spring Fling event, which takes place during the last month of school and is open to preschool families and the surrounding community.  It’s a very popular event filled with fun activities, entertainment, games, food, teacher treats, raffle baskets, and silent auction items.

    Teacher Appreciation Committee:

The Teacher Appreciation Committee coordinates monthly brunches for teachers and staff, assembles holiday fruit and fudge baskets, celebrates staff birthdays with gift cards, and organizes the events of Teacher Appreciation Week including a themed luncheon for the teachers and staff.  All of this is possible thanks to generous donations of time and food (which is apparently our love language!) from the generous families at BPC Preschool.
