Kristin Cashman, Curriculum Aide and Science Teacher

August 23, 2017

Ever since Kristin was a young girl, she enjoyed working with children — from babysitting and camp counseling to being a full-time fourth grade teacher and mom, there was never a dull moment.  Kristin began teaching science at BPC Preschool in 2016 and had a blast.  Science has always been one of her favorite subjects.  She loves discovering new things and experiencing the enjoyment on students’ faces when they have that “I get it!” moment.  Kristin loves reading to groups of kids, or just having fun with hands-on activities and finding answers to all the questions they have.

Kristin has been married for 17 years.  Her husband is in the Coast Guard, and they have two children.  Their daughter is in high school and their son is middle school.  Kristin’s family was lucky enough to live in Alaska and Hawaii, where they enjoyed many outdoor adventures and swimming at beautiful beaches.

Kristin is an avid soccer player, and hiking is one of her favorite outdoor family activities.  Reading is her favorite indoor activity.  She always loves a rainy day with a good book.

Her family has moved many times with the Coast Guard, but wherever she has gone, Kristin has tutored, coached, substituted, or volunteered in the schools where her children have attended.

Kristin loves so many children’s books that it is impossible to choose just one.  She and her kids still love reading all the Mo Willams books together, even though they are both much older now.  Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus was always one of her son’s favorites.
